Title: Lifeguard (Summer Position)
Location: Gracefield Quebec - Transportation provided from Ottawa Ontario
Work Term: July 2nd to August 22, 2019 – Full-time (Temporary)
Wage: $2,160 + 4% Room and Board – Multiple positions available

Description:

Camp Misquah is looking for dedicated, energetic, responsible and enthusiastic lifeguards for our summer camp. Lifeguards are expected to maintain open lines of communication and work in a cooperative manner with other lifeguards and camp staff in fulfilling roles and duties.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 17 years old by August 17, 2019

  • Must be able to provide a Criminal Record Check

  • Provide proof that you possess a valid NLS certification and CPR C + First Aid

Will be trained in basic ASL, CPI, and camp procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons on the beach during beach hours

  • Act immediately and appropriately to ensure safety in the event of an emergency.

  • Provide maintenance on the beach, clearing the beach of any obstructions, and insure cleanliness of beach and beach supplies/equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness of the lifeguard cabin

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience working as a lifeguard, with individuals with developmental disabilities, or in a summer camp environment is an asset

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities and ability to problem solve effectively – the ability to work in a group environment

  • High energy - Candidates should be prepared for physical labor of lifting, moving and lots of walking, and have a passion for being outside. This is a very active job

  • Able to work in an outdoor environment for long periods of time

  • Outgoing personality and willing to actively participate in camp
