Terry White (Chair)
Terry became part of the Misquah community as he saw the positive impact that the Misquah summer camp has had on his son Brennan. The first words that a tired Brennan spoke as he got off the bus 5 years ago were “I’m going back next year!” Terry is a retired teacher of 32 years, a personal fitness trainer, and has been coaching special needs athletes for the past 10 years with Special Olympics in soccer and basketball and with the Capital City Condors for hockey. He has served on the Board of Directors for both the Condors and Special Olympics. Terry is looking forward to working with the board to be able help out with his experience and knowledge. Camp Misquah is where it’s at!
Jon Van Dijk (Treasurer, Interim vice-chair)
Jon has worked as a Chartered Accountant in public practice and industry for over 20 years. Having known several people who were heavily involved with Camp Misquah and witnessing their passion and commitment to Camp, Jon was happy to join the Board of Directors and has served as the Treasurer for the past 14 years.
Mark Wigmore
Both Mark's kids were Misquah staff, and he saw the smiles and pure joy it gave campers and the valuable experience it provided staff. He joined the board and twinned his love of running with Camp Misquah to start Team Misquah fundraising at Race Weekend. It has raised over $250K for the camp. Upon retiring from the federal government, he became Misquah’s first Executive Director. He now helps with fundraising and facility improvements such as the craft cabin, the gazebo and his latest project, the seniors cabin.
Savith Robinson
Savith started working at Camp Misquah in 2014 in positions including kitchen porter, site manager, kitchen manager and business director. Savith is overjoyed with the positive memories that Camp Misquah has to offer, and the lasting friendships that he has been blessed by through the camp experience. He wishes to continue to bring the Misquah Family together and form joyous, powerful and fun memories, while also improving the overall experience for campers and staff each and every day. He proudly sits the facilities committee within the Misquah board of directors.
Darren Theoret
Darren has been involved with Misquah and the site for 30 years. He went to camp site when he was young as a camper, worked for Misquah when he was older, was involved in Camp Bitobi board when they owned the site and continues on the Misquah board. He is a former counsellor and business manager. He knows the site, and how to do things to maintain the camp site. From opening to closing to where the pipes are, Darren is the guy. He contributes his knowledge and skills as chair of the facilities committee of the Board.
Doug Cody
Doug’s son Ben has been attending the camp for almost 20 years. Doug held the position of Fundraising Chair for a number of years before stepping back. He initiated the Trash For Cash program which continues to bring in funds collected from items people no longer need. Doug likes Trivia Events as they are also used to raise funds for the camp while having fun!
Bailey Rudnick
Bailey started working at Camp Misquah in 2007 when she was 17 years old. She worked there for seven summers in a variety of roles, including counsellor and program director. Bailey has enjoyed coming back to camp over the years as a volunteer. Once she moved back to the Ottawa area in 2023, she enthusiastically joined the Board and sits on the Advisory Committee. She is a lawyer and currently works as a criminal prosecutor. Bailey is deeply grateful for her experience working at Misquah and hopes to continue to contribute positively to Misquah for a long time to come.
Annie Ritchie
Annie has been a proud member of the Misquah community since 2015 when she first joined as a counsellor. She is currently finishing medical school at the University of Toronto, where she intends to pursue a career in Family Medicine with an interest in continuing to work with the special needs community. While on the Misquah board of directors, Annie enjoys contributing to both the Health and Safety and Advisory Committees - strengthening Misquah’s inclusive and uplifting culture that she has experienced firsthand for staff and campers alike.
Kendra Jamensky
Kendra was introduced to Misquah through her brother who has attended as a camper for many years, and began working at camp herself in the summer of 2015. She proceeded to work for the next five summers, holding various roles, including counsellor, head counsellor, and assistant director.
She has since completed a Master’s in Health Science and works in Ottawa as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
She is happy to have the opportunity to remain involved with Camp Misquah as a member of the board and contribute to the beloved community that it serves.
RICK FARRAH
Rick is a retired teacher who taught for 28 years. He has two children and one delightful granddaughter. His son is an avid Camp Misquah camper and has been attending for many years. Rick likes to say that if camp were year round, his son would attend. Rick is hoping to raise funds for the camp.
Ali Ghadban
Ali joined Camp Misquah in 2013. He has served as a counsellor and business director at Camp. Ali enjoys being part of the Miquah community and seeing the joy it brings to its staff and campers. Currently, as part of the board and health and safety committee, Ali looks forward to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of Camp for everyone.
Zenah Hassan
Zenah became part of the Camp Misquah community in 2013 as a camp counsellor. Throughout her summers at camp, she had the opportunity to build meaningful friendships with both campers and fellow staff members.
Zenah obtained a Juris Doctor at Queen's University and is now a lawyer at a full-service firm in Ottawa.
Zenah is a member of the Advisory Committee, where she collaborates with a team dedicated to maintaining the camp's efficient functioning, helping to ensure that Camp Misquah continues to provide memorable experiences for current and future campers and staff members.
Staff
ERIN FLYNN (EXECUTIVE Director)
Erin Flynn, B.A. Geography concentration in Environmental Studies, B.Ed in Outdoor Ecological & Experiential Education, is a community builder, educator and arts administrator. Her passion for people and the arts have led her on a winding road of discovery. With a long history as Station Manager at CHUO 89.1 FM, Ottawa-Gatineau’s community driven, independent radio station, she has connected deeply with the arts and culture community. Most recently, she has worked with the Ottawa International Writers Festival and Being Art Studio to launch their respective podcast series.
With a background in Environmental Studies and Experiential Learning, Erin is constantly looking for new ways to deepen her knowledge and explore new ways of doing things. Her volunteering experience includes serving as a founding Board Member of Playful Mindset, serving on the Board Of Directors of DARC, and formerly on the Boards of Apt613.ca, House of PainT, and currently as a music writer for earSHOT! She is a juror for FACTOR and former with the Polaris Music Prize.
Dallas dagg (Camp Director)
Dallas has been involved with Camp Misquah since 2017, having a range of positions from lifeguard, head lifeguard, counsellor, mentor, head counsellor and now co-director. From working at camp to running with team Misquah for race weekend, Dallas loves all things Camp Misquah.
Dallas brings years of experience as a developmental service worker and as a program coordinator and is excited to share her skills and experience with others.
Amy Lamarre (Camp Director)
Amy joined the Misquah family in 2022 as a counsellor. She was then head counsellor in 2023 and co-head counsellor with Dallas in 2024.
Amy graduated from La Cité Collégiale in 2022 with a diploma in Techniques d’éducation spécialisée. Since then, Amy has been involved with the special needs community in several ways, such as working in group homes and community programs. She is currently an educational assistant in an ASD class.
Amy cherishes all the memories she has made at camp and is looking forward to making more this summer!
Dan Lafreniere (Virtual & In-city Program Leader)
Dan is a longtime staff member and former director of Camp Misquah. He cares passionately about the Misquah community and wants to make sure the Misquah spirit lives at camp. He is the face and voice of Misquah Mondays which has kept us connected and smiling since Spring.
Logan stewart (Communications Director)
Logan has a public relations diploma from Algonquin College and extensive experience in communications, content creation, and fundraising.
Having personal experience living with a physical disability, Logan brings a unique and compassionate perspective to all his work. He is excited to manage Camp Misquah’s social media platforms and website.
