nurse/first aider: Job Posting

Title: Nurse/First Aider (Summer Position)
Location: Gracefield Quebec - Transportation provided from Ottawa Ontario
Work Term: July 2nd to August 22, 2019 – Full-time (Temporary)
Wage: $3,000 + 4% Room and Board – 2 positions available

Description:

Camp Misquah is looking for dedicated, experienced, responsible and enthusiastic nurses for our summer camp. Nurses are expected to maintain open lines of communication and work in a cooperative manner with other camp staff in fulfilling roles and duties. Their main responsibility is to organize, distribute and/or administer medications to campers that require it in an effective and timely manner, as well as ensure campers and staff are healthy while at camp.

Qualification:

·         Must be a Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse or BSCN student 3rd+ year

·         Provide a valid police record check

Will be trained in basic ASL, CPI, and camp procedures

Responsibilities:

·         organize, distribute and/or administer medications to campers

·         Do everything within your power to reduce preventable risks or injuries at camp

·         Advise and educate staff and campers to stay healthy while at camp

·         Administer first-Aid and CPR if necessary

·         Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursing station/cabin

·         Other duties as delegated

Skills and Knowledge:

·         Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, in a summer camp environment, or as a nurse, nurse assistant, first responder is an asset

·         Strong communication and teamwork abilities and ability to problem solve effectively – the ability to work in a group environment

·         Able to work in an outdoor environment for long periods of time
